Automatic subscription renewals

Squarespace subscriptions are set to automatically renew annually or monthly for your convenience and to avoid any interruption of service. This guide covers how automatic renewal works, how to enable or disable Auto-renew, and when your subscription will renew.

Tip: All Squarespace subscriptions are independent from each other, and each payment has its own billing cycle and invoice. To learn more, visit Checking your billing subscriptions.

Which subscriptions automatically renew

These subscriptions automatically renew on their own billing cycles, unless you cancel the renewal. Click the links to learn more:

• Website subscriptions – Annual or monthly
• Squarespace Domains – Annual
• Email Campaigns – Annual or monthly
• Member Areas – Annual or monthly
• Scheduling – Annual or monthly
• Google Workspace email addresses – Annual or monthly

Mobile Start plans and Getty Image licenses are one-time purchases and don’t auto-renew.

How you’ll be charged

We’ll charge the billing card on file for your site. Always keep your billing information updatedto avoid billing failures for these subscriptions and to ensure we charge the correct card. If your card on file has expired, we can still collect payment.

We’ll send an email reminder 15 days before annual website subscriptions renew so you’ll have time to make any changes. We can’t reprocess a completed charge on a different card.

What happens if auto-renew is disabled

If auto-renew is disabled:

• Your subscription will expire on the next payment date.
• You can also cancel a subscription to end it immediately.

Enable or disable auto-renew

We recommend editing this setting at least one day before your next payment date:

1. In the Home menu, click Settings.
2. Click Billing & account, then click Billing.
3. Under Subscriptions, click the subscription to review: Website/Store, Google Workspace, Email Campaigns, Member Areas, Scheduling, or Domains.

Tip: For domains, click Domains, then click the domain name to go to the Domains panel.

4. Switch the Renew automatically toggle off.

Domains linked to parking pages

If your Squarespace Domain isn’t linked to an active website, it might be hosted on a parking page. Parking pages are free, but your Squarespace Domain renews automatically unless you disable auto-renew.

To manage a domain linked to a parking page:

1. Go to the Domains tab of your Squarespace account dashboard.
2. Click the three dots to the right of the domain name you want to cancel, then click Manage domain settings.
3. Scroll down and uncheck Auto-renew.

Find your renewal payment dates

Follow these steps to see the next renewal date for a subscription.

Website

1. In the Home menu, click Settings.
2. Click Billing & account, then click Billing.
3. Under Subscriptions, click Website or Store, depending on the billing plan.

The Payment due date is your next renewal date.

Domain

1. In the Home menu, click Settings.
2. Click Billing & account, then click Billing.
3. Under Subscriptions, click Domains, then click the domain name.
